Meaningful innovation: the first ‘jumpthegap talk’ in Barcelona

  • The session will be attended by Josep Congost, Isabel Roig, Benedetta Tagliabue and Joan Vinyets at Roca Barcelona Gallery
  • This event with renowned professionals from the design and architecture fields is included in the series of meetings that will take place as part of the international design competition jumpthegap

The first session of ‘jumpthegap talk’ will take place at the Roca Barcelona Gallery on the 23rd February, under the title “Meaningful innovation: Opportunities provided by design and architecture to solve people´s real needs.”

The ‘jumpthegap talk’ are meetings with renowned professionals of the design and architecture sectors that provide their vision on this issue. They take place in different cities around the world as part of the international design competition jumpthegap, organised by Roca, which celebrates its hundredth anniversary this year, with the collaboration of BCD Barcelona Centre of Design.

Three members of the jury will participate in this round table in Barcelona: Benedetta Tagliabue, architect and director of the Estudio Miralles Tagliabue EMBT; Isabel Roig, director of the BCD; and Josep Congost, design and innovation director at Roca, who will be joined by Joan Vinyets, designer and anthropologist.

Previously, the first sessions of the “jumtpthegap talk” will take place in Sofia (Expo Bath) and Bucharest (University of architecture) on the 21st and 22nd February. These will be attended by another member of the jury of the seventh edition of jumpthegap, Valentin Vodev, designer and founder of the company VELLO.
