"Building the interiors of the future" - Nuria Ayala, Ary Indra & Agatha Carolina

On Tuesday 27th November, a jumpthegap®(talk) took placein Indonesia at Fairmont Hotel Jakarta.

 

Sustainability, overpopulation, water crisis, the usage of new technologies or research into new materials and processes were the topics analyzed to size how they influence the process of designing and developing architecture and interior design projects and what are the future trends in these areas.

 

Nuria Ayala (Spain), architect and Project Manager at OAB Office of Architecture in Barcelona; Ary Indra, architect from Aboday studio and the Indonesian architect and designer Agatha Carolina, composed the round table.


Nuria Ayala

Núria Ayala graduated as an architect from the School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB) in 2001.

She joined the Carlos Ferrater studio in 2000 and in 2006, when Carlos Ferrater, Xavier Martí, Lucía Ferrater and Borja Ferrater created the Office of Architecture of Barcelona (OAB), she became the Project Director of the studio.

Together with Carlos Ferrater she received the Iberoamerican Biennial Architectural Prize and the Ecola Prize in 2010, being a finalist at the Valencian Award for Azahar Business Group Headquarters. In 2011, Finalist in the 11th Spanish Biennial and Finalist in FAD Prize for Summer Camp NGO Viladoms.

She coordinated and did the graphic design for the “Research Process” in Sincronizar la geometría/Synchronizing Geometry, published by Actar; Editorial MP’s monograph Carlos Ferrater - OAB, the book “Casas y habitants” (Actar) and Actar’s monograph “OAB. Office of Architecture in Barcelona”

Ary Indra

Before establishing Aboday in 2005, he worked for AXIS Architecture Planners in Singapore from 1998-2006 where his last position was the design school principal. He has an interest in architecture ranging from housing, hospitality, institutional and industrial architecture, which has recently become the subject. In addition to being an architect of everyday life, he is also a freelance writer for several architectural rubrics and lifestyle magazines in Indonesia.

Agatha Carolina

Agatha Carolina is an architect and designer from Indonesia. She received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Parahyangan Catholic University in 2006. After graduating, Agatha joined Andramartin Architect in 2010. Two years later, Agatha and her partner Chrisye Octaviani founded their firm named ‘Bitte Design Studio’. After five years working in the design and architecture field, Agatha finally decided to take her Master of Interior Architecture degree at University of Art, London
