Ruy Ohtake, President
From the time he graduated from the University of São Paulo’s School of Architecture and Urbanism (FAU-USP) in 1960, architect Ruy Ohtake has rendered in his own language more than 300 architectural projects, in Brazil and abroad. His architectural style results from a combination of technological research focusing on the construction industry and an accurate and innovative plasticity.
Committed as he is to create a contemporary Brazilian architecture having innovation as a guiding thread, Ruy Ohtake imprints his trademark on multiple projects that include public works, schools, hotels, theaters and movie theaters, residential buildings, commercial buildings, and self-standing homes.

Architect, designer and curator, Emilio is also a multidisciplinary and international creative consultant for renowned independent projects, foundations and companies. He has achieved creative and business leadership in the design and architecture industry, significantly contributing to the formation of a thriving design community in Mexico.

He holds a degree in Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
From 1981 to 1989, he was a founding associate and President of the Board of Directors at Ecotècnia S. Coop, and from 1989 to 1997 he served as Director of Vehicle Design for the Nissan European Technology Center of Barcelona (NETC-B).
He has been working with Roca Sanitario, SA since 1997, and is currently the Design and Innovation Director.

She has been collaborating with many prominent companies including Venini, Hermes, Abet Laminati, Swatch, Swarovski, Bisazza, Du Pont, Slamp, Tubadzin, Christian Dior.
Dorota Koziara approaches the topic of design very comprehensively. Being a designer, she also deals with design promotion, company development strategies through design, and design criticism.
She has been a curator and organizer of exhibitions promoting design on an international scene for many years.
Director MIT Senseable City Lab Founding & Partner Carlo Ratti Associati, Italy
An architect and engineer by training, Professor Carlo Ratti teaches at MIT, where he directs the Senseable City Laboratory and is a founding partner of the international design and innovation practice Carlo Ratti Associati. A leading voice in the debate on new technologies’ impact on urban life, his work has been exhibited in several venues worldwide, including the Venice Biennale, New York’s MoMA, London’s Science Museum, and Barcelona’s Design Museum. Two of his projects – the Digital Water Pavilion and the Copenhagen Wheel – were hailed by Time Magazine as ‘Best Inventions of the Year’. He has been included in Wired Magazine’s ‘Smart List: 50 people who will change the world’. He is currently serving as co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Cities and Urbanization and as special advisor on Urban Innovation to the European Commission.

She has held the position of Executive Director of the BCD Barcelona Design Centre since 2000, an organization focused on econòmic and social value creation through design and its role in innovation and sustainable growth.
Her previous professional experience has provided her with the insight required to set successful and innovative strategies at the Centre. In 2006, she founded the Barcelona Design Week.
She has been a member of the European Design Leadership Board appointed by the European Commission, and the President of BEDA (Bureau of European Design Associations). Currently, she is a Board Member of the World Design Weeks Network.

RIBA, Chartered Member, Int'l. Assoc. AIA, graduated TU Vienna 1992. He is the founder of Tabanlıoğlu Architects established in 1990 together with Dr. Hayati Tabanlıoğlu. He conducts atelier programs at several Universities, lectures at international platforms, contributes as a jury member at national and international programs such as at AIA and WAF, he served on the Master Jury for the 2013 Cycle of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. In 2014 he has been granted with the honor of curating the first Pavilion of Turkey at the 14th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale. He has been the curator of “Port City Talks. Istanbul. Antwerp.” exhibition at MAS Antwerp as the major event of Europalia 2015 Turkey. Recent exhibitions include Stage 0: Travelogue, Architekturgalerie München in 2017 and Recomposing AKM Architektur Galerie Berlin in 2018.

Bachelor of Science and Master in Business Administration (ESADE 1986), he has developed his professional career in the fields of marketing, business strategy and communication.
For 10 years he was President of the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Bath Products (AGRUBAÑO).
He has worked for various multinational companies in brands like Delial, Bayfresh, Baygon, Evax or Dodot, and since 1991 he works in Roca Sanitario, S.A., where he has developed various management positions. In 2008, he took over the Brand and Communication Direction of the company and currently he is also the Director of the Roca We Are Water Foundation.

Currently, on the Philips ASEAN Pacific management team, Cheaw Hwei looks after the overall direction of Philips Design in the region, leading the company through a design transformation, as Philips moves towards experience and solutions based innovation. His second role brings synergy in driving both Design and Innovation initiatives into the work that Philips does in Singapore.

She has more than 31 years of experience in public information, communications and international relations, acquired at the United Nations and externally. Prior to her latest appointment, she served as Director of the Department of Public Information’s Strategic Communications Division in New York beginning in 2011. In that role, Ms. Seward led a complex operation that developed and implemented strategies for communicating key United Nations messages; managed a network of more than 60 United Nations information centers; and sought to strengthen the coordination of communications across the United Nations system as Secretary of the United Nations Communications Group and its task forces.
Before joining the United Nations, Deborah Seward took on progressively responsible assignments with the Associated Press, serving as Chief of its Moscow bureau between 2000 and 2003, Chief of the Paris bureau from 2009 to 2010, International Editor in New York from 2003 to 2005, and Assistant Managing Editor in New York from 2010 to 2011. She also worked in Prague as an Executive Producer in the Central Newsroom of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty from 2006 to 2007.
